Misc. June Pics

Below are a bunch of misc. pictures from this past month. The girls snuck outside with a marker and were very quiet for about 10 minutes...this is the result...they wanted to be tigers. :-)
Swinging time!

Just hanging out enjoying the lovely weather...

We made a volcano out of paper mache and then got to do the experiment to watch it erupt!
Observing the flamingos on a zoo trip.
Camel rides! Carrie still talks about her camel ride almost every day.
Mamma and Si going for a ride!
Too tuckered to keep up with all the excitement.
Lydia and some neighbor friends made dolls out of our chopsticks.
A family Costco trip! Grandma has one fully loaded cart!
Friends came over and cracked open a coconut that we've had in our play room for a few years. As expected, it was not a pretty sight or smell inside.
Sisterly love...
We are blessed to have an ice-cream truck that comes down our road. There's nothing quite as exciting as hearing that "Popeye the Sailor Man" tune when we're playing outside.
My mom, Lydia and I got to watch our friend act in the musical, "The Sound of Music." It was a great show and Lydia absolutely LOVED it!
Giving Daddy some snuggles before he leaves for work...
I usually cut Zach's hair and Lydia has been asking to give it a try. So here she is giving Daddy a hair cut! Hopefully soon she can take over!
We got to witness our niece and nephew's dedication this month! Such a blessed service and so glad we were able to attend- with Zach being a preacher we don't often get to be at other churches on Sundays.
After the service I tried to get a picture of Zach and the kids since it was Father's Day....epic fail.
Our good friends, the Bussis, were in town from their new home in Montana and we got to enjoy a lunch and some play time at a park together. So great to connect and hear how they are doing. Lydia photo-bombing our picture... :-)
The dads and Si.
We went to Frederick Meijer Gardens with my friend, Anna, and her son, Carter. Our girls just adore Carter. Almost anytime we were walking around, they grabbed his hands...so sweet.
My Aunt Helen, who lives in Arizona, was here for her annual visit so it was great connecting with her again!
The girls and me after a fun swim...
Our van wouldn't start one morning so my dad was kind enough to pick us up so we could have a fun outing. Thank you! We checked out a park near our home that was on a small lake. It was awesome!
Grandpa and Silas on the boardwalk.
I turned 34 this month! Wow- really?! Here we are about to enjoy my ice-cream cake.
Some friends from Canada were in town so we got to have them over for dinner and catch up. The kids had fun eating and playing together too!

Carrie and Shane really hit it off. :-)
Both Lydia and Carrie have been a big help by feeding Silas his morning bottle. They are going to be little mothers when Baby #4 comes in a couple months.
Great month! Now onto July!

Strawberry Picking!

Some friend invited us to Krupp Farm to go strawberry picking. We have never been so we were very excited to participate!
The girls enjoyed looking for just the right strawberries to put in their buckets.

Si did pretty well hanging out in the stroller watching the excitement and sampling the product.
The farm also has a petting zoo so we had to check that out after we finished picking.
Did I mention it has an ice-cream store? Definitely had to check that out.
Silas enjoyed roaming around the area once he was out of the stroller.
Here's the whole crew after a fun morning!

Green Thumb

We have a flower bed in our front that is pretty bare and black. I don't have the energy or time to devote to making it look lovely, so I called up a woman from our church family who is a master gardener and asked if she could give me some tips/help. Not only did she give me advice, but she mapped our our garden, went to a nursery and bought us many beautiful flowers! Then she came over and helped plant them and decorate the space! Talk about giving more that you expect and doing  so cheerfully! Here is what the area looked like before her visit...
Norma, the master gardener, Zach and Lyddi hard at work.
The girls stepped in a lot to help. They especially wanted to help with the wheel barrow...
...which quickly turned into wheel barrow rides!
The finished product!! She was even thoughtful enough to pick perennials that require low maintenance- what a gift!! Thank you Norma!

Bookie Bee 2016!

I started out the month with a weekend away at my folk's cottage with four dear friend from Canada. These lovely ladies were part of the book club I started when we lived in Jarvis- hence the name, "Bookie Bee." It's a great time to relax, re-connect and laugh! We welcomed them to the US with some new Dollar Store, American accessories.
Enjoying our first dinner together at Fire Rock Grill.
A peaceful lovely breakfast on a gorgeous day!
A few of us chill'n and relaxing...
Kayak time!
Adult coloring...very therapeutic.
Someone getting pushed in! It was a weekend filled with lots of great conversation and lots of laughter!
It was an awesome, incredibly refreshing weekend with my Bookies. Thank you hubbies for watching all of our kids so we could enjoy this special time away! And thank you Bookies for coming for our second Bookie-Bee!
