We invited our friends, Jerry and Freda, over for dinner. After a delicious dinner (a soup recipe I got from a friend) Lydia woke up and they were so excited to hold her!
This first picture just makes me smile. Jerry is very involved in the conversation while Lydia flirts with the camera.
So precious...

Lyds Lately...12 weeks
We received this little outfit for Lydia from some of our Canadian friends. We thought it was pretty funny, but we had to add our 2 cents at the bottom. :-)
My friend, Adelle, and I had baby girls one week apart. So we've been hanging out a lot more. It's been fun to see our girls grow together. We go for walks and get together to talk weekly. Our latest outing has been taking out girls to an infant massage class. It's free so we figured, why not? Here we are before out first class.
Lydia has been cooing and talking much more lately. It is so fun to hear her voice. Here she is talking with Daddy.

Lyds Lately...11 weeks
11 weeks old...wow! People sure are right when they say it goes fast. We are thoroughly enjoying parenthood and all the joys and challenges that come with it. Lydia is doing great.
Here Lydia and Daddy are enjoying good conversation over breakfast.
She is getting really strong and can hold herself up for minutes at a time. It's so neat to see her looking all around while holding herself up.
Bath time!
Her latest achievement...rolling over! A few days ago I put her down on her tummy and when I came back in the room she was on her back! Neither of us have witnessed her actually rolling over but we know she can. Here she is trying to get on her back...so close!

Retreat
We headed to the beautiful Muskoka Bible Camp for the annual pastor/spouse retreat. It is a wonderful three day getaway filled with great fellowship, awesome worship, and fun! Our guest speaker was Professor Scott Hoezee. He gave some great lectures about Science and Creation. We enjoyed a lot of free time playing board games, talking, and playing volleyball.
We met up with our good friends (who we met at the retreat two years ago). It didn't take us but an hour to find the shuffle board court.
Here we are in front of the lake.
Lyds did very well adjusting to a new sleeping arrangement and schedule for a couple days.
Normally Lydia wakes up with many big smiles...so this face was worth capturing.
There are the smiles...
The view from our room.
What a beautiful place.
First Mothers Day!
It was so fun to be a mother on Mother's Day! We had a pretty typical, relaxing Sunday afternoon. This picture has nothing to do with Mother's Day; it's just a cute shot of Lydia
Lydia got a bit teary giving me her card...she's quite sentimental. :-)
Lydia's penmanship is quite advanced for her age...
My first Mother's Day as a mother was pretty great. We are so thankful for our moms and feel so blessed to have you in our lives!

Mini-van Mamma and Driv'n Daddy
Well...it was only a matter of time before we took the plunge and got a minivan. It turned out to me much more exciting than I ever anticipated- I couldn't wait to get one!
We traded in Monster Tracker AKA The Roller-skate. We've had a lot of great memories and trips in that car. I can still remember sitting in Monster Tracker on my first date with Zach...sweet memories...
We decided to donate my car, Silverado, to Teen Challenge. Hopefully someone will put her to good use and enjoy her as I have the last five years.
Here is our new van...a 2007 Hyundai Entourage! We both fell in love with it on the test drive.
Lydia gave it her stamp of approval too.
Check out that trunk space!!
Lydia was so excited she lost a bit of her lunch...on Daddy!

USA Debut!
We headed to Buffalo to pick up some items and enjoy a nice lunch at Olive Garden. It was a very special trip because it was Lydia's USA debut! She was a great rider and we had a wonderful afternoon in New York. We even bought an American flag ornament for our garden in honor of Lydia's special day.
Here she is all ready for the day!
