Misc. October Pics

We tried to get outside as often as we could this month. We enjoyed a lot of walks...
trips to the park...

playing in the dirt...

and more walks!
Here we are at a fun gymnastics open gym.

At another park...

Below Carrie is enjoying her chocolate dessert.
Daddy enjoying some Si snuggles...
Rough House Time!!!
Care was very helpful by pushing the cart during a trip to Costco...
Reading time!
We told Lydia that when she learned to be potty trained we would take her to SkyZone, an indoor trampoline park. She has been potty trained for over 6 months now, and we finally arranged a time for her special outing! She graciously invited Carrie along for the fun! They had to pause for a picture with the big snowman. :-)
This month Lyddi has been found in some unusual locations for her slumber.
At the top of the stairs...
And in the middle of the stairs....
Playing Super Heroes!
Super Hero Smooches! Does it get any better?
And we'll end with some sweet Si pics...

Onto November!

Halloween!

Our Halloween started a couple days early with a special toddler time parade at the library. Our little Cinderella and Minnie Mouse were beyond excited!!

Our little hedgehog.
Then the day before Halloween we had some of the kids' cousins over to do some carving and fun pumpkin activities...Pumptivities!
Si loved watching the fun!
Unfortunately the weather on Halloween was too cold and rainy to Trick or Treat. Fortunately, a nearby rest home had an indoor alternative! So we did our trick or treating there! Below Lyddi and Carrie are checking out there stash.

And here is Carrie about 1 minute later after we told her she may not eat any more candy until after dinner.
I think the girls had the most fun handing out candy to kids who braved the cold for their treats!

Happy Thanksgiving...eh!

We invited our good friends over to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving! Since they are Canadian and Lydia is a dual citizen, it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate!
Some of the kids ready to eat.
The feast!
Lyddi, Eden and Daena...
What a gift to celebrate the many blessings we enjoy every day with wonderful friends!

Leaves!

I just love fall leaf pictures!

Cinnamon Rolls!

One of my favorite childhood memories is making cinnamon rolls from scratch on Sunday mornings with my dad before church. It struck me that I didn't know how to make them. So I asked my dad if he would teach me and the girls how to make them and share his recipe. We had a great time making them together!
Mixing the ingredients...
Spreading the flour...
Pausing for a smile!
Rolling out the dough...
As you can see, Lyddi is on quality control before they head into the oven. :-)
Thanks so much Dad for passing on this wonderful tradition! I can't wait to try it at our house- once we are up early enough on a Sunday to attempt it...that may be a few years out yet. :-)

Si's first food!

Silas ate his first solid food this month- another big milestone for this guy! He also started sleeping through the night this month (Cue the Hallelujah Chorus music)!!!
Here it comes!
The results are in...He likes it!!

Frederik Meijer Garden

A highlight of this past month was going to Frederik Meijer Gardens with my mom, my sister Anne, and her kids for a morning. I have only been one other time and I was amazed at how much this place offers! We took a tour of all the statues and different works of art around the gardens.
There was a pumpkin patch in which the kids had fun playing!
It made for a very colorful photo op!
Here we are hanging out at the farm.
Apparently the girls were quite inspired by the outing. The next day I came outside after the girls had been playing for a bit, and they were thrilled to show me their masterpiece!
