Cancun!!

Zach and I started the new year with a trip to Cancun!!  We got to get a way for a week to sunshine, rest, relaxation and fun! We called this our baby-moon because it will be a while until we can do something like this again after Baby #3 is born. We went to an all inclusive resort and it was AWESOME to not have to cook, clean....basically think, for a whole week! The resort had several restaurants which were delicious. Most of the pictures are of us about to eat, eating, or after finishing eating.... We did a lot of eating. :-)
I realize I've done a horrible job of keeping photo updates of the baby bump. So here is one- 25 weeks along!
We went with our good friends, Steve and Julie. It was so great chatting and laughing together. After dinner each night we spent a couple hours playing games together- FUN!
 Again...eating.
Other than eating, we spent our time doing a little swimming, kayaking, walking, reading, and....ahh....see below.

Our cleaning staff left us adorable little people/animals made out of towels. It was quite creative and fun to walk into our room each day and see the new creation.

Julie went on an excursion swimming with dolphins. I really wanted to do it with her but they wouldn't let me because of the pregnancy. So I went along to watch and take pictures.

The week flew by and it was super fun, but even more exciting to be back with our girls again. :-) Thanks again to my mom and Aunt Cindy for taking care of our little loves while we were away!

December Pics

Wow, Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed a Christ-filled Christmas season filled with joy and renewed appreciation for the gift of our Savior! Our Christmas week was busy with Carrie being sick all week. I missed out on a Christmas party and a few church services because I had to stay home with her. But the good news is she recovered and is back to her cheerful, sweet self! Below is a family picture the week before Christmas.
Always a little crazy trying to get a photo with our girls.
This was a sweet picture of Lyddi and cuddly Care.
This picture just cracks me up. Did you notice Lydia?!

Library Events!

Our KDL library is just awesome. They hosted some great Christmas special events recently which we took advantage of. The first event was a reindeer visit!

Another event was a very informative presentation by an Iditarod expert. We learned a lot of interesting information and even got to meet his team of sled dogs!

Life Lately..

Lydia has been taking a class at the Y called Tumblebugs. She gets to do a bunch of fun activities that help increase her coordination and balance. Her coach had to step down from the position because she was moving so I got the job of teaching the class! Below Lydia is warming up by dribbling while we wait for her classmates to arrive.
OUCH! I was recently working on a Christmas craft and cut my thumb pretty badly. I ended up needing 4 stitches.
After the nurse dressed the cut it looked a lot worse than it actually was. Boy did I do a lot of explaining the next day at church.
A recent fun activity was decorating Christmas cookies with cousins!
Lydia was in her first Christmas program at church. It just melted our hearts watching her sing, "Mary Had a Baby!"
Lydia recently pulled this book off my parents book shelf.... is she making a prediction?! We will find out this week if she is right!
I recently had the privilege of connecting with a few of my Canadian girlfriends in Sarnia, just over the border. We had a delightfully slow lunch followed by pedicures. It was so great to re-connect and catch up with these lovely ladies.
With the mild winter we've been experiencing, we try to get outside when we can. The girls and I enjoy going for walks. So we bundle up and take walks down the road as often as we can. Below Care is pumped for her afternoon stroll!

Carrie has inherited her Dad's ability to have her eyes partially or fully closed in most pictures taken of her. Take 1:

Ah Ha! There it is!!

Another recent event was making gingerbread  houses. Dad, Trace, Cal and Hannah came over to decorate with us.
 Very focused on our work...
Zach gave Hannah an bread making lesson while they were over.

Baby Update!

Wow, 17 weeks already- almost half way there! This pregnancy is flying by! I'm feeling well- very thankful to be out of the first trimester. Here is the baby bump thus far...
This picture has nothing to do with the baby- just too cute not to share. :-)

Snow!

Recently, we had a large snowfall in our area. It is so much fun to see the delight and jubilation on our girls' faces at the sight of freshly fallen snow! It takes a good 10 minutes to get the girls bundled for the outing. Here they are, all ready to go!
Lydia likes to eat it as much as she like to play in it!

Daddy took Care on her first sled ride. As you can hear, she is giggling with delight!
Lydia had to hop on that ride!
 Let it snow!

Failed Photo Shoots

Whenever I can, I try to get cute pictures of the girls together. But at the precious ages of 1 and 2, sitting for pictures isn't exactly their favorite thing to do. Nevertheless, we keep trying!
Lydia: "Mom, I really don't want to be doing this..."

Care: "Oh! Are we taking pictures now?"
Care: "Oh Lyddi, I sure love you."
Both: "Just take the picture already!"
 On another occasion...
Care: "Nooooooo!!!!"

 Care: "Nooooooo!!!!"
 Care: "Noooooooooooooo!!!!"
 On yet another occasion...
Whamp...
 Whamp...
 Whamp!
Oh well, another failure- but the bloopers are still pretty cute.
