Well, life has been going by so quickly I got two months behind with this blog. So here I am playing "catch up." The girls got to go ice-skating for the first time! Lydia's preschool had a field trip and Carrie got to go along, with Daddy. :-) Do you think she liked it?
Just enjoying some post bath Si snuggles...
Silas recently learned how to make funny faces. He is a little ham.
A big event of January was Carrie's hospital visit. She got a terrible croup cough one night and was wheezing when she breathed so we had to take her in. Long story short, she ended up having to stay overnight. I couldn't be there because I am still nursing Joy so Zach took her and stayed with her. She was very brave and thanks to the awesome care at Spectrum Children's Hospital, she actually had a great time! It felt so strange to not have her home and not be with her while she was there, but we are so grateful to God that she is healthy and happy.
The night Carrie went to the doctor I found Lydia sleeping at the bottom of the stairs; she had been quite concerned and was waiting for Carrie to come home. :-)
Some friends of ours were able to stop in for an evening during their Holiday travels. Claus, below, was in our wedding and it is always a treat to connect with him and his family. Below Zach is teaching Claus some of his baking skills. :-)They brought their two beautiful daughters so we had to go for the kid shot! The kids became fast friends after a couple hours of play. :-)
Another fun event was going to Frederick Meijer to see the beautifully decorated trees! Below Lydia and Carrie are showing off their Swedish and Dutch roots.
Checking out the cool Nativities.
Lydia posing in front of the Canadian tree, because of her dual-citizenship.
Sleigh Ride!
Big brother Silas...Another fun event was a cousin sleepover! The girls had been asking for one for months and it finally worked out to have Sarah and Rachel over. Playing dress-up...
Si had to get in on it too.
"Ahhhhh!!!!!"
Having fun with some hair dye.
Joy taking in all the craziness...
Silas reading his favorite "Saur!" (Dinosaur) book with Daddy.
Lydia loves holding her baby sister...
Zach wakes up early to do his devotions and the girls snuck down one morning for some early cuddles...
Lydia got out all the spit rags and rubber bands to dress-up as Mamma Mary. I love it when the kids dress up as Bible heroes.
We enjoyed some GORGEOUS January weather! Look at what they are wearing....in January....in MICHIGAN!!
Grandma and some of her girls after church one Sunday...
Joy started sitting in her Bumbo seat! A fun, new perspective for her!
Another fun outing was visiting the Public Museum and seeing their whale exhibit. Check out this whale heart!
Astronaut Lyddi!
Making harmonicas before we left.
Joy had enough...
Just hanging out at home painting...
Storytime at the library. I love that Silas now joins his sisters.
Care and Mamma hanging out.
Just a cute pic of JoyAnna and Grandpa O.
Alright, onto getting February done!
