Shore Stations

Every year we have to set aside a day to put in the shore stations and docks at my parents' cottage. It is a big, heavy job. When my sisters and I got married our husbands were signed in as life long helpers of this wonderful task. Zach was at a conference all weekend and I had the Monday off of work. It was a perfect excuse to make a quick trip to GR (and bring Zach's muscle strength in spirit for the shore station job). I worked hard to get my homework and housework finished on Friday night and left for GR Saturday morning.
I always love seeing this sign- Go Michigan.... (plus it means my drive is half over!)

Since I decided I was leaving on Saturday morning, no one knew I was coming. I surprised my mom (who was babysitting). I jumped into the action and read a story to Pieter and Matthew. It started off well, but...well, you'll see...

Matthew starting to get antsy...

More antsy...

Woah Matthew!

Laura came over for a long time coming, good old hot tub talk....just like the old days. It was so wonderful to connect again.

Sunday morning my mom and I went to my sister and brother in law's house to help get their four kids ready. Rachel is ready for church with a big, beautiful smile.

I squeezed in (barely) in the back with my buddies.

After church we headed to the cottage. The guys were hard at work for several hours putting all the docks and shore stations in.

It was a beautiful day and the kids had fun playing in the water together.

After a long hard day of lifting shore stations and watching kids, those who were still around went for a ride on Mom's new pontoon boat. It was wonderful!! We named her boat, "iFloat."

Captain Sandie and Pieter at the wheel.

Cap'n Jim and Blake.

Monday morning came before I knew it. Here is one last picture of mom and I before I headed back to Canada.

Funny story. Monday morning before I left, mom and I were in my car together. I arrived home and found out that my mom had accidentally left her purse in the back of my car...Whoops! We mailed it back to her right away!
