Olson Visit!

Dad, Trace, Cal and Han came for a visit. It was Hannah's birthday the day before so we made sure to celebrate!

Hannah opening her gift. It took a while for her to un-wrap seeing how it had about 12 layers of wrapping paper. :-)

Lydia woke up in time for some of the fun.

We have homemade pizza every Friday at our house, so Hannah helped us prepare the food.

Time to feed Lydia. Uncle Can and Auntie Hannah helped.

Bath time...what a sweetie.

Lydia's zombie pose. :-)

Just hang'n out with Mimilicious and Grandpa.
Gett'n some Grandpa kisses.
Lydia showing off her teeth to Hannah.
Hi Uncle Cal!

One last sweet picture together.

Thanks for coming out guys- We love you!

Cheers to Three Years!

Wow- three years of marriage already. It's crazy how fast it goes! Zach and I celebrated our three year anniversary on August 15. Words can't describe the thankfulness in my heart to God for blessing me with such a wonderful, God-fearing, man of integrity. Grace...God's beautiful grace.

We celebrated in true "Olson style" by getting a Dairy Queen ice-cream cake...so good!

Marriage...what a gift. Looking forward to many more years together!

Cottage: Part 2

Yeah...vacation! We spent another week at my parent's cottage. It was so great! It felt like we were gone forever...a true sign of a wonderful vacation. We spent a lot of time with family this trip. It was fun to reconnect and spend time together...and quite a few people needed their "Lyddi-fix." Here Mom O is enjoying some time with her grand-daughter.
Smiling after a bath.
Me and my Marmie...love her.
We played a lot of Baggo. (We love that game!) Here we are playing with Mom and Dad Mallekoote.

Cutie pie...
Zach helped my dad with some guy stuff...more power!
Mom and I playing Sorry with Pieter and Sarah. Sarah styled Mom's hair- reminds me of Cousin It from "Adam's Family."
Lyds in the high chair line-up with her cousins, Matthew and Rachel.
My Annerbonks... :-)
Grandpa O and Lyds...so sweet.
"Wow Grandpa, tell me more!"
Great Grandma, Grandma, Great Aunt Jen and Lydia.
Lyds having fun on the deck.
Grandma and Lyds
Cousins...and future playmates.
We absolutely loved waking up to this...so beautiful and peaceful.

What a wonderful week. Thank you Mom and Dad M for letting us vacation at the cottage!

Railsbacks Visit!

Our good friends, Seth and Andrea, and their kids, Ethan and Peyton, came for a visit. We had one full day together so we headed to Niagara Falls. It was probably the hottest day of the summer, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. Here is the crew in motion.

A cute shot of Andrea and Peyton while we waited for the boys to use the facilities and get our Adventure Passes.
The Railsbacks getting their first view of the Falls.
Olson family shot.
The Maid of the Mist (a boat tour that takes you to the bottom of the falls) was a definite highlight. We all embraced getting soaked because it felt so refreshing on such a hot day. The head index was 109 degrees! (Thank goodness for air conditioned buildings.)
Zach and Lyds enjoying the mist...Ahhhhhh.....
After an exciting day of touring the falls we headed back to our place. The kids were pretty pooped out so they took a snooze on the bed while the adults chatted.
The next morning before church Peyton decided she wanted to hold Lydia...so sweet.
Ethan enjoyed chilling on the couch while we got dinner ready.

What a fun weekend! Thank you Seth, Andrea, Ethan and Peyton for coming out for a visit. It was short and sweet, but we sure packed in a lot of laughs and memories together.

First Baby Food!

We gave Lyds her first baby food the other day...carrots! She surprised us both by eating the entire jar...although, as you'll see she and Daddy wore quite a bit of it too. :-)

We followed up dinner with a bath.

A cute shot of Daddy and his girl.
Lydia tends to get her limbs stuck in the slots of her crib, so we got her some bumper pads (thanks Auntie Jayne)! She likes them so much she gives them hugs them while she naps. :-)

Dinner Time!

We started giving Lydia rice cereal in the evening a couple months ago. She really likes it...but sometimes gets so excited she wears more than she eats. "I love dinner time!"

"Get in my belly!"
"It's so good..."
"Do I have something on my face?"

Food Coma...
We often follow dinner time with bath time in our home. :-)
